01 / THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Are you fed up with PR fluff
and coverage that
doesn’t convert?

We specialise in strategic comms, delivering campaigns that are creative, compelling and, above all else, designed for commercial impact.

Lewis Lowery Communications is THE PR agency for businesses that want the strategic advantage.

02 / WHO ARE WE?

Who
are we?

All things being equal, a brand’s success in a busy marketplace comes down to one thing – its ability to out-market its rivals.

Lewis Lowery Communications gives you the strategic advantage to do exactly that.

We’ve spent years watching ambitious businesses settle for PR coverage that looks great in an end-of-month report but does nothing for business outcomes.

Lewis Lowery Communications is led by a team of award-winning former journalists turned strategic marketers. We know how to uncover the stories that will engage your audience, but we also know that a good story is useless if it doesn't also serve your bottom line.

We exist to prove that when journalism-grade storytelling, creative bravery and commercial nous combine with long-term client partnerships, PR becomes an unstoppable growth driver.

Whether we are advising on boardroom corporate strategy, managing high-stakes media crises or executing creative campaigns that dominate AI and search rankings, we bring big-agency clout with the personal, dedicated care of a true strategic partner.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE NAMEWhat’s in a name?

Kindness,
excellence
& heart.

There is legacy and love in the Lewis Lowery Communications name.

When Lewis Lowery agency founder Caroline looked for inspiration for the agency name, she looked to the people who shaped her.

Caroline says: “I was raised by my Grandma and Grandad. They taught me how to show up in life with a clear set of values: "Manners maketh the man" and "Do unto others as you would be done by." Above all, they did everything in their power to make sure I was okay.

“Lewis was my Grandad’s surname. Lowery was my Grandma’s maiden name.

“Launching the agency in their name felt like the right thing. I know they would want the best for me and I’ll always see that name and want to work hard to make them proud.

“They also taught me that we don’t beg for a seat at the table. We build our own and then we make sure others feel welcome.

“This is the philosophy I’m bringing to Lewis Lowery Communications. We are building a table where our clients and colleagues feel heard, supported and represented with the same integrity my grandparents instilled in me.”

Lewis Lowery isn't just a business name - it’s a promise to work with kindness, excellence and heart.

Brand strategy

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Brand strategy

Strategy first. Content second.

Content is easy. Intent is hard. We build intent-driven brand strategies that turn marketing spend into a non-negotiable commercial advantage.

Why brand strategy is critical to business success

Most businesses don't have a PR problem; they have a strategy problem. They invest in sporadic press releases, fragmented social posts and random video posts that are not rooted in purpose.

Without a clear brand strategy, your marketing spend is just noise. A Lewis Lowery brand strategy defines exactly who you are, who you need to speak to, what will engage them and how your comms will accelerate your commercial goals. This strategy is the foundation that drives brand authority, lead generation and long-term brand equity.

Our brand strategy framework

What is your why? Defining your overarching commercial purpose and aligning your board behind a clear, unified narrative

Positioning: Uncovering your true market differentiators and translating them into robust, high-impact key messages

Audience and media mapping: Pinpointing your high-value audiences and mapping out the earned, owned and specialist channels required to influence them

Create Once Publish Everywhere (COPE): Structuring your narrative so it can be deployed seamlessly across PR, C-suite profiling, site content and AI search engines (GEO)

Ready to give your brand a strategic edge? Let’s define the narrative that sets you apart from the competition.

Creative campaign ideation

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Creative campaign ideation

Brave creative ideas that cut through the noise and change what people think, feel and do.

When you combine creative bravery with purpose-led strategy, campaigns don't just win industry awards, they transform perceptions and deliver measurable commercial returns.

Creative campaign ideation isn't about coming up with gimmicks or stunts. It’s about taking your brand strategy and translating it into a compelling creative campaign that commands attention.

The right creative idea changes perceptions, opens doors to new commercial partners, builds deep trust and gives your business an unfair share of voice in your market.

How we build winning campaigns

Our ideation process ensures we win the hearts and minds of your target audiences.

Golden rules:

We test every idea against real newsroom logic. If a national editor or trade editor wouldn't cover it, we don't build it.

Every creative activation must directly serve a business objective, whether that's repositioning your brand, launching into new markets or unlocking growth.

Does this idea bring your key messages to life? Will it change what people think, feel and do?

Have you got a story worth telling? Let’s build an award-winning creative campaign that wins hearts and minds.

Media relations

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Media relations

Appearing in trusted publications is vital to businesses in a world of online searches, AI bots and social media.

In the past, search engine optimisation (SEO) would have been enough to create an illusion of an impressive business, but those days are gone.

Generative engine optimisation (GEO) is how businesses can take advantage of AI searches by appearing on authoritative news websites.

AI searches will not use adverts to inform their users. Your business must be featured in high Domain Authority respected media outlets, and the only way to do this is through media relations.

Creating that positive reputation about a company can improve sales and recruitment and also insulate against any negative stories that may arise.

Modern media relations is about much more than getting a story published. It is about understanding why a journalist would want to run it, where it belongs and what it needs to achieve for the client.

That is where Lewis Lowery has a distinct advantage.

Our team brings decades of experience from inside newsrooms as reporters and editors, combined with extensive senior-level PR and communications experience. We understand the media because we have been on both sides of the story.

Between us, we have spent many years understanding what makes a story work and have contacts across trade, regional, national and broadcast media.

We know what journalists need

We know the difference between a story that is genuinely interesting and one that simply matters to the person who wants it published.

We know how newsrooms work, what makes an editor pick up the phone and what makes a journalist put a story to one side.

We understand deadlines, news values, exclusives, pictures, spokespeople, data, case studies and the importance of getting to the point quickly.

Most importantly, we know that one size does not fit all.

That is where our journalistic experience becomes a real commercial advantage for our clients.

The right story, for the right audience, with the right message at the right time

GEO

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO)

Search behaviour is shifting.

According to recent research, 37% of users now start their search with AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude instead of Google*.

Traditional SEO was built for web crawlers, chasing keywords and backlinks to rank on a results page. GEO is about how a brand gets recognised, cited and recommended within AI-generated answers instead.

Large language models draw heavily on trusted journalism, expert commentary and authoritative trade coverage to form their answers. That makes PR central to AI visibility, not an afterthought to it.

We treat GEO as a measurable outcome of good, consistent PR: securing earned coverage in publications that AI models trust and cite, so your brand shows up when your target audience asks the question.

C-suite profiling

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Executive profiling and personal brand strategy

People trust people. We build the voices that drive your business.

Public relations is about people. The reputation of an organisation is shaped just as much by the leaders behind it as the brand itself.

Raising the profile of your board members and senior executives puts a human face on your business. It demonstrates deep sector expertise and builds instant credibility with investors, prospects and customers. It establishes your brand as the obvious authority in your market.

This isn't about vanity or publicity for its own sake. By placing informed, sharp opinions into the public domain, your senior team shapes industry conversations, builds trust and secures powerful media relationships that pay long-term commercial dividends.

We turn executive expertise into market authority. We build C-suite profiles that open doors, influence boardrooms and deliver measurable commercial value.

We can help you build trust and authority by:

Securing high-impact broadsheet interviews, national broadcast appearances (TV/radio) and leading industry podcast slots

Ghostwriting sharp, newsmaking commentary pieces that position your leaders on the right side of sector trends

Securing high-value speaking slots at key industry conferences, roundtables and investor forums

Crafting an authentic, consistent digital voice for your senior leaders that builds real-world influence without drifting into corporate fluff

Ready to position your leadership team as the go-to authority? Let’s turn your executive knowledge into a high-value commercial asset.

Copywriting

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Copywriting

Copy written for authority, impact and conversion.

Written with newsroom instincts, backed by commercial strategy, we create compelling, high-authority copy that speaks with one clear voice across every channel.

Website copy, thought leadership, press releases, brochures and campaign messaging – every line your brand publishes should read as one voice, laddering directly back to your key business objectives.

We write as former journalists, not just copywriters. That means we know exactly what earns a second look in a busy newsroom or prospect inbox. We bring that same sharp editorial instinct to everything we write, whether it’s destined for a national newspaper, a client pitch deck, or a C-suite LinkedIn post.

We start by defining who you are, who you need to influence and what success looks like. Everything else follows from there.

What we write

High-impact articles, op-eds and executive commentary that position your leaders as trusted industry authorities

Newsroom-ready press releases, media pitches and Q&A briefs engineered to cut through media clutter

Conversion-focused website content designed to hold attention and drive action

GEO and Search-Optimised Content. We write high-authority articles structured to feed AI engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini) and win the "AI citation war"

Corporate brochures, pitch decks, whitepapers, blogs, reports and internal engagement material that align your message across the business

07

Award writing

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Award writing

Industry awards provide third-party validation that builds trust, boosts team morale and opens boardroom doors.

We use newsroom instincts to write winning award entries that stand out to judging panels.

Why awards matter to your bottom line

Awards are a genuine business driver.

They give you third-party validation, build trust, credibility and authority and create the basis for a news story that works just as well internally as it does externally. A shortlisting or a win is content ready to be turned into a press release, a social post, a pitch-deck highlight or a feature on your website.

Beyond the trophy, the commercial value of entering awards is undeniable:

  • Putting an entry together forces a level of reflection and performance measurement that is easy to skip in the day-to-day running of a business
  • Winning or being shortlisted boosts team morale – recognising the team behind a project and giving people something to rally around
  • An award signals to prospective hires and investors that they would be joining a business that industry peers already rate
  • Award ceremonies put you directly in a room with decision-makers, partners and potential clients

How we work with you

We don’t enter awards for the sake of it. Every submission must align with your broader brand strategy and commercial goals.

We start by working out what you actually want to be known for, then identify the awards that fit, whether that's a national, regional, or industry-specific award.

We approach entries the way we approach any piece of writing, using journalistic instinct to find the narrative that makes yours stand out from a judging panel wading through dozens of similar submissions.

We draft the entries, gather the evidence, liaise with the award bodies throughout and manage the logistics.

We amplify the win, turning your shortlisting or victory into multi-channel PR, social content and sales collateral.

Ready to gain the recognition your business deserves? Let’s find your winning story and turn your success into market authority.

08

Social media

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Social media management

We can turn your social channels into targeted, newsroom-grade broadcasting networks that build authority, influence decision-makers and amplify your key messages.

Social media is your primary owned broadcasting channel. It gives you total control over your brand narrative, allowing you to speak directly to your target market without relying on third-party media gatekeepers.

Decision-makers don’t just read your press; they research your company and interrogate your leadership team on platforms like LinkedIn long before they ever get in touch.

In a market governed by AI answer engines and shifting search algorithms, maintaining an authoritative, precision-targeted social presence is critical.

Right message, right channel, right time

Broadcasting is meaningless if you are speaking to the wrong room. We don't chase vanity metrics or irrelevant follower counts. Every campaign, video clip and thought leadership post is engineered to reach the audiences that matter to your business:

  • Executive & C-Suite profiling: Working directly with senior leaders to build authentic personal brand channels that project thought leadership, shape sector conversations and open doors
  • Management: Transforming dry corporate pages into dynamic newsroom-grade feeds that showcase market wins, technical expertise and company culture
  • Social content production: Producing high-impact visual assets, video commentary and sharp editorial posts that cut through the noise
  • Training: Training C-suite leaders on tone of voice, content ideation, platform dynamics and how to convert digital engagement into real-world business opportunities

09

Influencer marketing

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Influencer marketing

Influence isn't measured in followers; it's measured in trust.

We connect your brand with the authoritative voices that create credibility, authority and connection, from trade analysts and industry pioneers to high-value niche creators.

Trust is rarely won by a brand simply talking about itself. It is built by association with the right voices.

For us, an influencer isn't defined by a follower count. It is someone whose voice carries genuine weight with the specific audience you are trying to reach, whether that’s a respected journalist, a key industry analyst, a recognised sector figure or a specialist content creator with an engaged, high-intent following.

We identify the individuals whose hard-earned credibility rubs off on yours, and we build long-term, strategic relationships that go far beyond a single sponsored post or superficial mention.

How we activate influencer partnerships

We focus on deep, meaningful collaboration that delivers a tangible commercial impact:

Co-created content: Partnering with key opinion leaders to author white papers, host podcasts and produce authoritative video content that positions your brand at the centre of industry debates

Ambassadors: Securing recognised sector experts to act as long-term contributors and advocates for your business

Roundtables and events: Getting the right voices in the room for exclusive panel discussions, dinners and events where high-stakes conversations happen in front of key decision-makers

Creator management: Managing the end-to-end outreach, contracting, creative direction and compliance for specialist digital influencers

Ready to align your brand with the industry's leading voices? Let’s build strategic influencer relationships that turn authority into commercial growth.

Crisis comms

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Crisis comms

When a crisis hits, you need calm heads, radical honesty and a team that understands how newsrooms operate under pressure.

At Lewis Lowery Communications, we are poachers turned gamekeepers.

Our team is a team of former award-winning journalists, newsroom leaders and senior directors with decades of hands-on experience on both sides of the media fence.

We know how journalists build a story and exactly what it takes to kill one.

We operate at the highest levels of crisis management – no jargon, no bad surprises and no panic. We provide sharp, strategic protection built on trust, transparency and absolute discretion that protects your reputation and helps you communicate from a position of strength.

Crisis management support

1. The former journalist advantage

Because we used to be the ones asking the tough questions, we know how to anticipate the media’s next move before they make it. We draft holding statements that close down speculation, prepare leaders to face tough interviews with total confidence and manage live newsroom enquiries with composure.

2. Strategic counsel

Crisis comms cannot be handled in isolation. We act as an invested, proactive extension of your team. We will be alongside you during high-stakes decisions, delivering hard truths early rather than polished lies too late. We will ensure your legal, operational and commercial interests are fully aligned.

3. Protection that preserves commercial value

A mismanaged crisis damages your valuation, scares off investors and erodes customer trust. Every line we write and every media strategy we deploy is designed to protect your long-term commercial reputation and market authority.

Our crisis framework: how we would work with you

Immediate lockdown and audit: We establish a single point of contact for all media traffic, ensuring no unauthorised comments leak, stopping the narrative from spinning out of control

War Room setup: We evaluate the commercial, legal and operational risks alongside your executive team, establishing key messaging and scenario planning for every potential outcome

Media Handling: We produce journalism-grade holding statements, Q&A documents and reactive lines. We deal directly with journalists on your behalf to protect your team from line-of-fire stress

Media Training: As accomplished media trainers, we will ensure that any spokesperson is fully briefed on our key messages and trained to handle potential interviews with confidence and skill

Stakeholder alignment: We ensure your internal teams, clients, board members and external partners are communicated with transparently and with care

Post-crisis rebuilding: Once the immediate threat passes, we deploy strategic PR to build authority and trust and pivot the focus back onto the positive news within the business

Need senior-led crisis counsel? When high-stakes situations arise, don't leave your reputation to chance. Talk to our former newsroom leaders in total confidence.

Media training

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Media training

Face the media with total authority and never get caught off guard.

Master the art of the press interview with former award-winning newsroom leaders.

Lewis Lowery Communication prepares C-suite executives and spokespeople to control the narrative, land key messages, handle tough questioning and project commercial confidence.

A single interview can define – or derail – your reputation.

Putting an untrained spokesperson in front of a journalist is a commercial risk no business should take. Whether it’s a national TV appearance, an aggressive trade interview or a high-stakes crisis scenario, journalists are trained to probe, push and uncover the story THEY want to write.

If your leaders freeze, ramble or get lured off-script, the damage to your brand authority and market confidence can be immediate and immeasurable.

We don’t teach generic corporate speak or canned answers. We deliver intensive, real-world media training that turns your executive team into broadcast-ready brand ambassadors. We show you how to bridge away from traps, deliver crisp, commercially aligned key messages and leave every interview having advanced your business objectives.

Learn from the people who used to be the ones asking the tough questions.

Most agencies offer media training led by marketers who have never sat in a news studio. We are award-winning former journalists, newsroom bosses and broadcast reporters.

We know the exact techniques reporters use to break down spokespeople, pull out unintended admissions or spark a reaction.

We put your leaders through realistic, high-pressure interview setups, complete with playback and instant feedback. And we teach you how to protect your balance sheet by seamlessly steering high-pressure questions back to your key messages.

What our media training covers:

Message development and bridging: Mastering the techniques required to pivot away from hostile questions and deliver your core points with natural authority

TV, radio & print techniques: Voice projection, body language, eye line control and managing the unique pressure of any interview situation

Interview dynamics: Navigating on-the-record, off-the-record and background briefings without slipping up or handing over negative quotes

High-stakes handling: Scenario-based pressure testing for aggressive investigative interviews, doorsteps and sensitive corporate news

C-Suite prep: Tailored one-to-one coaching designed specifically for CEOs, directors and board members stepping into top-tier media outlets

If you are ready to turn your C-Suite into effective spokespeople, then please get in touch. Ensure your team speaks with authority, clarity and absolute confidence when the cameras roll.

Event support and amplification

THE STRATEGIC ADVANTAGE

Event PR and media amplification

Trade shows, expos and industry summits are where reputations are built and deals get signed. We turn your event attendance into maximum media coverage, market authority and a pipeline of new opportunities.

The power of in-person comms

There is no substitute for face-to-face. A well-placed conversation at a trade show can do more for a journalist relationship than months of email pitching.

Events are where brand awareness, credibility and high-value relationships are forged all at once.

Done well, your event presence is a genuine opportunity to compress months of standard outreach into a single high-impact couple of days.

How we can amplify your attendance

Whether you are exhibiting at a major UK expo or hosting a booth at an international trade show, we ensure your team isn't just standing at a booth waiting for footfall; we actively drive media interest to you.

Pre-event journalist outreach: Building the media diary weeks in advance, securing scheduled briefings, product previews and C-suite interviews with attending editors

Working the event: We actively manage media arrivals, make warm introductions and spot opportunistic interview moments

Content: From stand activity and keynote speeches to candid, human moments that showcase your brand culture beyond the press release

Asset amplification: Turning event briefings into written features, white papers and follow-up press releases that sustain momentum long after the doors close. Create Once, Publish Everywhere

04 / WHAT’S OUR APPROACH?

Content is easy.
Intent is hard.

Our first response is always the same:

Why?
01

Strategy first….ALWAYS

Content is easy. Intent is hard.

"I want a video." "I want a podcast." "I want to be in the paper."

Our first response is always the same: Why?

We refuse to commit random acts of marketing.

If you can't explain what action you want to drive or whose mind you want to change, you aren't investing in marketing – you're just spending money on content for content's sake.

We want to begin our relationship with solid foundations by defining your marketing objectives, comms narrative, target audiences and key messaging. Before diving into tactics, we always take the time to understand your business objectives and aspirations for comms.

This is the necessary strategic foundation before any tactical campaign planning or delivery can begin to ensure comms tactics are effective and support your strategic business aims.

By rooting our tactics in a solid strategy, we will be able to provide you with truly strategic comms support that will give clarity, commercial focus and messaging consistency across all your PR and marketing activities.

Strategy isn't an add-on. It's the foundation that turns marketing spend into measurable commercial returns.

02

PR strategy checklist

Every client will have its own PR strategy checklist, bespoke to them and focused on their outcomes.

If we can’t answer yes to all the questions we agree on, then we should review whether our comms will be effective.

Outcomes over outputs always.

Example PR strategy checklist:

  • Does this activity deliver against your strategic objectives?
  • Will it create brand fame and elevate you above the competition?
  • Will it drive talkability?
  • Does it make you the most appealing provider of the product or service you sell?
  • Does it reinforce your key messages?
03

COPE - Create Once, Publish Everywhere

Compelling content is at the heart of everything we do. Once we have a compelling story / piece of content, we will ensure we maximise the value and reach of this by repurposing it for all of our channels.

Not only will this deliver maximum ROI from your PR investment, but it will ensure that all external comms are unified with the same key messages. It will also support your in-house team in delivering fresh content for the owned channels they look after.

An example of this could be a new product launch news story that is then repurposed for the website as a blog, shared across your social channels in a series of posts, sent as an email to your database and announced via advertising on priority channels.

04

How we use AI

We embrace modern technology to drive efficiency. But we know that true brand authority, newsroom instincts and commercial breakthroughs come from battle-tested human experience.

AI is a brilliant tool for research, data analysis and workflow efficiency. But the strategy, newsroom hooks, relationship building and high-level comms guidance remain strictly in senior human hands.

Our AI Commitment:

  • All strategy, crisis counsel, key messaging and media content are created and vetted exclusively by our senior team. AI never crafts the story that goes to a journalist or reaches your audience
  • Our team brings real-world newsroom experience, contextual intuition and critical thinking to navigate complex news cycles to protect your brand’s integrity
  • We never feed confidential client information, intellectual property or unannounced corporate strategies into public AI models. Your data and privacy are strictly safeguarded
  • While we don't rely on AI to write your content, we strategically ensure your media coverage is structured to win the "AI Citation War" – making sure tools like ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity cite your brand as an industry leader
  • We operate with total openness. We will always be clear about how tools support our agency’s efficiency, and we welcome open conversations about tech integration

Our thinking

Yesterday’s blockbuster £1.6bn Sky takeover of ITV’s broadcasting and streaming arm is a watershed moment for British media.

Lewis Lowery graphic about the Sky and ITV deal and regional news provision until 2034.

On paper, it’s a defensive mega-merger designed to give the UK the scale to fight off global streaming giants and YouTube. But looking past the headline figures, the most critical element of this deal is what it means for our regional media landscape.

Crucially, under the terms of the acquisition, ITV’s public service broadcasting obligations, including its regional and national news operations, are safeguarded until at least 2034.

At a time when local journalism is under unprecedented structural and algorithmic pressure, this commitment matters enormously.

Strong local and regional news coverage is essential for communities. It keeps people informed about the issues affecting their towns, cities and regions, gives a platform to local voices and helps ensure that stories with real public impact are not lost in the national news agenda.

From a strategic PR perspective, it is also a commercial necessity.

For the businesses, professional services firms, charities and public sector bodies we advise, high-authority regional media remains one of the most trusted, impactful ways to reach the people who matter to them.

It provides third-party validation that a paid social media ad simply cannot buy.

If investment in broadcasting helps protect and strengthen regional news provision, that is good news for the media landscape, good news for PR and – most importantly – good news for local people who deserve proper, reliable coverage of the places they live.

A media landscape that protects its direct, trusted relationship with local audiences will always be a stronger place for both journalism and PR.

Our thinking

It was really heartening to read this Wall Street Journal article highlighting the growing influence of chief communications officers in the boardroom.

A meeting room with a boardroom table and wall illustrations.

What we loved at Lewis Lowery was the recognition that successful businesses understand that communications isn't just about managing reputation when things go wrong. Today's communications leaders help shape corporate strategy, align employees behind a shared vision, build trust with stakeholders, support transformation programmes and strengthen an organisation's licence to operate.

Comms deserves a seat at the boardroom table – and the same applies to external PR consultants.

PR agencies shouldn't simply be brought in when a crisis hits or a campaign launches. They should be trusted strategic partners, contributing to discussions around growth, change, stakeholder management and reputation long before decisions are announced or news breaks.

An external perspective can challenge assumptions, identify risks, uncover opportunities and help leadership teams understand how decisions will be perceived by the audiences that matter most.

Communications is a vital business function and businesses that recognise that are increasingly the ones that stand out, build trust and achieve growth faster and more efficiently.

At Lewis Lowery Communications, we give businesses that strategic advantage with communications designed for commercial impact. We are grateful to the clients who give us a seat at their boardroom table. Please get in touch if you think there could be a seat for us at yours.

Lewis Lowery Communications secures PR contract with the North West’s fastest-growing private company The Genius Group

The Genius Group reception with TGG branding.
  • Manchester PR consultancy wins major communications brief with UK’s third fastest-growing business

Lewis Lowery Communications has secured a six-figure PR contract with The Genius Group, one of the UK’s fastest-growing marketing and technology businesses.

The appointment follows the successful delivery of a campaign for HD Law, a consumer claims specialist and The Genius Group client. Lewis Lowery Communications has now been retained to support AskRose, the group’s pension reclaim specialist.

The win represents a significant milestone for the Manchester-based consultancy, which launched earlier this year with a mission to deliver communications campaigns focused on commercial impact rather than publicity alone.

The Genius Group recently reported revenue growth from £4.2 million to more than £210 million in four years, securing a place at number three on the Sunday Times’ fastest-growing private companies list.

Caroline Aspinall, founder of Lewis Lowery Communications, said: “Winning a contract with a business of The Genius Group’s scale and ambition is a fantastic endorsement of the work we're doing.

“Our project with HD Law demonstrated the value that strategic communications can deliver with national coverage across TV, radio and newspapers, boosting the authority of the brand. We are happy to have now strengthened that relationship with The Genius Group through a retained brief with AskRose.

“Both organisations are helping consumers navigate complex issues that can have a real financial impact on their lives. Our role is to ensure those stories reach the right audiences in a way that builds trust, credibility and authority and, of course, delivers meaningful commercial outcomes.”

Jake Deakin, Head of Marketing at The Genius Group, said: “We are ambitious about the businesses we build and support, so it’s important that we work with partners who understand how communications can contribute to commercial growth.

“Caroline and the team quickly demonstrated that through their work with HD Law. They understood the brief, delivered high-quality media results and became a trusted extension of The Genius Group team.

“As we continue to invest in AskRose and expand its reach, we’re pleased to be partnering with Lewis Lowery Communications to help tell that story and support the next phase of our growth.”

The contract marks another significant step in the growth of Lewis Lowery Communications, which already works with clients across sectors including property, construction, facilities management, fire protection, building modernisation and energy.

Launched by former journalist and communications leader Caroline Aspinall, the consultancy specialises in creating commercially focused PR campaigns that help ambitious organisations strengthen reputation, support growth and achieve measurable business results.

A really interesting piece from Prolific North on Google’s biggest-ever overhaul of Search and why many marketers now believe we are entering a new era where PR, authority and reputation matter more than keyword-heavy SEO tactics.

Lewis Lowery graphic: Good PR. Stronger in the Age of AI.

As the article highlights, Google is moving further towards AI-generated answers, conversational search and zero-click experiences, meaning users are increasingly staying within Google’s ecosystem rather than clicking through to websites.

For brands, that changes the game significantly.

One quote particularly stood out to us: “It’s all right you saying you’re the best, but what you really need is other people telling the world you’re the best – and that’s where PR becomes invaluable.”

That is exactly why strategic PR, thought leadership and earned media are becoming so important in the AI era.

AI-driven search tools are looking for authority, credibility, expertise and trusted signals across multiple channels. Businesses that consistently appear in respected media, provide expert insight and build a recognisable reputation are far more likely to stand out.

SEO still has a role to play, of course, but the brands that will win over the next few years will be the ones investing in long-term visibility, trust and reputation.

There are some mornings that stay with you and today was one of them.

Group beside a Sunshine Coach at a school.

As a Boltonian myself, it was incredible to be at Green Fold Primary School this morning to see Variety, the Children's Charity GB present a Sunshine Coach to the pupils.

I was in the room last November at the North West PROPS Awards when MCR Property Group made the generous pledge to fund this coach. To see that promise realised today, and to see the sheer excitement on the faces of the children, is a powerful reminder of why our ongoing support for Variety is so important.

For the last four years, we have provided pro bono PR support to Variety in the North West, using our voice and connections to amplify a story that really matters.

This coach is a key to the community for 200 children with special educational needs. It’s school trips, life skills and real-life experiences that were previously out of reach.

A huge thank you to Nick Lake, Tom Booth and the team at MCR Property Group for their generosity and to the incredible Lyn Staunton for her tireless work. 👏

Today was a reminder that when the North West property sector comes together, we don’t just raise money we change lives in our local communities.

Seeing a pledge made at The PROPS turn into a physical, life-changing asset on the streets of your hometown is exactly why we do what we do. What a wonderful full-circle moment.

New research from Muck Rack (covered by Dominic Ponsford in Press Gazette) has just confirmed what we’ve been telling our clients at Lewis Lowery for months: AI answer engines are prioritising specialist and B2B media.

According to the analysis of 15 million citations across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, the AI Citation War is being won by the specialists, not the generalists.

The data is a wake-up call for B2B brands:

Specialism is the new SEO: Niche B2B publications are consistently out-ranking mainstream news in AI visibility.

The Authority Shift: In the UK, titles like Procurement Magazine and Coffee Intelligence now carry as much "trust weight" for AI as The Guardian.

The "Trust Anchor": A quarter of all AI answers rely on journalistic validation. If a credible outlet hasn't verified you, the AI won't recommend you.

For years, PR has often prioritised “big name” coverage, but, particularly for B2B clients, authoritative, credible, specialist coverage is now doing more of the heavy lifting.

At Lewis Lowery, we focus on:

Deep Sector Storytelling: We build the technical authority that AI engines demand

Precision Targeting: We don't just find the biggest audience; we find the right audience

Commercial Impact: We measure our success by how often you are the answer

Q2 may be the right time to pivot your B2B comms. If you’re ready to win the citation war, then perhaps we should talk.

If you’ve spent five minutes on LinkedIn recently, you will have no doubt seen the new breed of Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) experts telling you they’ve found the secret sauce to making ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity fall in love with your brand.

The PR teams say it’s all about Earned Media (Trust).

The SEO teams say it’s all about Structured Content (Tech).

They are both right…..But incomplete on their own.

In 2026, winning the "AI Citation War" (making sure your brand is the one the AI actually recommends) requires a Unified Comms Approach.

Think of it this way: AI engines are the ultimate sceptical journalists. They don't just "read" your website; they "fact-check" your entire digital existence.

💻 Your Website (Owned) tells the AI what you do

🗞️ The Press (Earned) tells the AI that what you do actually matters to your audience

💪 Your Authority (Expertise) tells the AI you are a safe pair of hands to recommend

If your media coverage isn’t talking to your SEO and your content isn’t talking to your social, you aren't building authority. AI won’t cite a brand that looks different on every channel. It cites the ones that provide a consistent, high-authority "signal" across the board.

At Lewis Lowery Communications we use a principle called COPE - Create Once Publish Everywhere, which has stood the test of time since first being introduced to me by the formidable Carolyn Lewis MCIPR ACIM more than ten years ago. It may be a decade old, but has never been more relevant than it is today.

By ensuring a single piece of compelling content is strategically adapted for the press, the website and social media simultaneously, we don't just maximise ROI we build the signal that AI engines demand.

And what that ultimately shows us is that while the tools change over time, the strategy of good communication remains constant.

When a story goes from "Headline" to "Historic"

There is a specific kind of adrenaline that comes with a global news breakout, one that involves high-stakes precedents and intense public scrutiny. It’s an adrenalin rush that still gets excitement coursing through my former-reporter veins.

But for a PR agency, these aren't just moments to pitch your experts; they are moments to navigate.

When a story as complex as the Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Arrest breaks, the media doesn't just need a quote, they need a roadmap and experts who can keep moving the story on.

As a former journalist, I look at these stories through a dual lens. I’m thinking about what the reporter is being asked for by Newsdesk – new angles, new voices and exclusive hooks that ensure tomorrow’s paper is full of follow-up stories that their rivals haven’t got.

I’m also thinking about how my clients can be positioned as expert voices in that space.

From experience I know that the brands that get to lead the conversation aren't necessarily the loudest. They’re the ones who:

⭐ Provide the most clarity when things get complicated – on and off the record

⭐ Deliver new news angles that move the conversation forward

⭐ Move quick, breaking news waits for nobody. When news breaks, speed is a perishable good

⭐ Have experts who are media trained, broadcast ready and available

⭐ Possess genuine authority and expertise in that space

When the news cycle moves at this speed, you need a PR partner who understands the newsroom as well as they understand PR strategy.

Looking at the wall-to-wall coverage of the Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrest, my reporter’s brain is on fire. It’s a reminder of why I loved this job, the rush of a historic story that drives national conversation.

But watching the influx of expert commentary today, there are other observations to be made....In a historic crisis, the most valuable experts aren’t the ones merely reacting to the shock; they are the ones explaining the chaos, finding the clarity and ensuring the right information ends up in the right hands.

When a national newspaper editor calls to ask if you’re real, you know the industry has reached a tipping point.....

I had a fascinating call this week.

A national newspaper editor rang me regarding a story I’d sent over. They weren't calling for more information or to send more images. They were calling to verify my existence and the existence of my clients.

"Are you real? Is this story true? Have you actually sat in a room with the person quoted in this release?"

At first, I laughed, as of course the answer to all the above is yes. But then we chatted about the bigger picture and she mentioned this fake Telegraph article which was recently highlighted by Press Gazette:

Read the referenced article

With Reach plc (publishers of the Mirror and Express) now creating "white-lists" of trusted PR agencies to battle the surge of fake, AI-generated "experts," the gatekeepers are under siege.

Here is my take as a former journalist who is now running a PR agency:

1️⃣ Journalists are under more pressure than ever. They don't have the luxury of time to hunt down every source. If they don't know you, they might just block your domain to protect their reputation

2️⃣ Trust is the new currency: In an era of AI, the value of a PR agency that actually personally knows its clients and understands their expertise is crucial

3️⃣ PR isn't about being a content factory. It’s about being a bridge of trust. When I send a story, my name is the guarantee that the quote is real, the person is an expert and the lived experience is genuine

I was pleased that the Editor took the time to call. They were doing a thorough job in an increasingly complex world. The call gave us both the opportunity to talk about ways we can work together effectively and what content they are looking for to fill their news pages.

It also made me think that the PR agencies that will survive 2026 and beyond will be the ones with the strongest real-world relationships, those who always answer the phone and those who refuse to compromise on the truth.

Lewis Lowery Communications appoints Steven Hallmark as News Director to drive media strategy

Portrait supplied by Lewis Lowery Communications for its team news.

Strategic PR consultancy Lewis Lowery Communications has strengthened its senior team by appointing experienced journalist and communications professional Steven Hallmark as News Director.

The Manchester agency – founded by former journalist and agency leader Caroline Aspinall – continues to build momentum following its launch, with a growing portfolio of clients seeking commercially driven communications strategies.

Steven joins Lewis Lowery Communications from Smoking Gun, where he most recently served as B2B News Editor, leading content strategy and media relations for a range of high-profile clients, including American Golf, Best Western Hotels, and UA92.

With more than two decades of experience spanning journalism and public relations, Steven brings a deep understanding of the media landscape and a proven track record in delivering impactful storytelling. His career includes senior editorial roles across regional media titles as well as comms and PR positions.

In his new role, Steven will lead the agency’s news and content output, working closely with clients to develop compelling, insight-led campaigns designed to drive measurable commercial results.

Caroline Aspinall, Founder of Lewis Lowery Communications, said: “I founded Lewis Lowery Communications to bridge the gap between creative storytelling and hard commercial performance

“Steven is the perfect hire. His journalistic instinct, combined with his strategic communications experience, makes him the perfect fit for what we’re building.

‘In an era of AI-generated noise and shrinking newsrooms, Steven’s newsroom intuition is a high-value asset for our clients. He understands that a headline isn't a vanity metric - it’s a tool for clients to gain a competitive advantage.

“Bringing a News Director of his calibre on board is a clear signal of our intent. As News Director, Steven will spearhead the agency’s focus on Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), ensuring client narratives are built to be cited as authoritative sources by AI answer engines and top-tier media alike."

Steven Hallmark added: “Lewis Lowery Communications has a clear vision – to deliver communications that don’t just look good, but genuinely move the dial for businesses.

“With my background in both journalism and PR, I’m passionate about creating stories that resonate with the right audiences and deliver meaningful results. I’m looking forward to helping clients unlock new opportunities through smart, strategic storytelling.

“The industry is changing and many agencies are still chasing output over impact. We’re here to turn complex business objectives into hard-hitting news that search engines, AI models and - most importantly - customers, can't ignore.”

Lewis Lowery Communications specialises in delivering creative, commercially focused PR campaigns for ambitious businesses, combining journalistic expertise with strategic insight to drive growth and reputation.

AI can write a press release. But it can’t read the room.

Media coverage collage supplied for Star Bottle.

Last month, one of our clients wanted to send the English National Anthem into space.

On paper, it’s a great story. It’s patriotic, it’s grand and it’s technically impressive. If I had asked an AI to draft the strategy, it would have told me it was a Gold Star idea. In fact for the purpose of this LinkedIn post I tested that out and it gave me a huge thumbs up.

This is because AI is trained on "average" logic. Average logic says: "The client wants to send the National Anthem to space. The King is the head of state. This is a patriotic, positive story. Draft the release."

But as a former news reporter, my experience told me something different.

I looked at the upcoming news cycle. I knew the Epstein files were due for release at the same time as our launch and that any story even remotely associated with the Royals was about to be viewed through a very specific, very negative lens. I also called a couple of key contacts on the nationals who confirmed any column inches dedicated to anything Royal would be filled by Andrew and nothing else.

This is where senior strategic counsel beats an algorithm every time. 💪 🤔

AI is a brilliant tool for efficiency. It can summarise data, check grammar and generate ideas at 100mph. But it lacks contextual intuition, has no newsroom experience, does not understand which stories a busy editor will bin in five seconds and does not think critically.

Strategy isn't just about what you do. It’s often about what you have the experience and the insight to avoid.

Former journalist and agency leader launches Lewis Lowery Communications

Portrait supplied for the agency launch story.

Former journalist and agency leader Caroline Aspinall has launched Lewis Lowery Communications, a strategic PR consultancy for businesses that want commercial results.

The agency is specialising in delivering creative, compelling communication campaigns that are designed to do one thing - drive commercial impact.

Based in Manchester, Lewis Lowery Communications launches with an impressive roster of retained clients, including property experts Landwood Group, fire protection specialists Adaston, facilities management provider GFM, building modernisation firm Synergize and district heating company PPSL.

The agency also provides pro-bono strategic support to Variety – the Children’s Charity as well as delivering projects for a number of other clients.

Caroline brings more than a decade of agency and in-house leadership experience to the new venture. Most recently she served as commercial director and head of B2B at Smoking Gun. Prior to that she was group commercial director at Democracy PR and associate director at Roland Dransfield PR.

A former award-winning journalist, Caroline says the agency has been created to bridge the gap between creativity and commercial performance in PR.

"Too many businesses settle for coverage that looks great in a scrapbook but does nothing for the balance sheet," Caroline explains.

"At Lewis Lowery, we are unapologetically commercial. We marry journalistic credentials with sharp business nous to deliver campaigns that are creative, compelling and, above all else, commercially successful."

She added that taking the leap to start her own agency wasn't a decision she took lightly.

“The decision came from a deep-seated desire to do things differently - to move away from "PR for PR's sake" and focus on the strategic, commercial impact that I know communications can deliver when done right,” she said.

“We work with ambitious businesses who want more than just noise – they want communications that sharpen their reputation, support growth and deliver a genuine strategic advantage.”

The agency’s name is a deeply personal tribute to Caroline’s grandparents, whose surnames were Lewis and Lowery.

Caroline added: “Lewis Lowery isn't just a business name; it’s a promise to work with kindness, excellence and heart.”
